Omcan #22 Stainless Steel Manual Hand Grinder, Model# 11012

This looks to be a well made stainless grinder. I've not yet used it because I've been mounting it on a 1 1/8" thick piece of 6" x 12" maple wood finished with Tung oil and using stainless bolts, flat washers, lock washers, and thumb screw nuts (to allow easy removal of the grinder from the bolts fastened to the board). The board is to allow me to clamp the grinder to my granite counter top. Easy separation of the grinder from the board is to allow easy cleaning of the grinder without the board. I used 5/16" x 2.0"" hex head bolts and counter sunk the bolt heads, 1 flat washer and one lock washer on the bottom of the board to prevent marring my counter top. The bolts protrude through the top of the board and are held in place by 2 flat washers and one nut per bolt. Since the grinder is a piece of CAST stainless the mounting holes were irregular in diameter but could accept 1/4" bolts without further work. I chose to use 5/16" bolts which required enlarging the grinders mounting holes and that required a lot of extra work via ruined Cobalt drill bits and elbow grease via a diamond rat tail file. However, the end result looks mighty nice. The cutter and plate are not stainless but are a tougher carbon steel that needs a little coating of olive oil to keep from rusting.
